1、and连接两个动词，有时后面动词的行为是前面动词的行为对象或目的，译成汉语时可以连着翻译，但有时and前面的部分用来表示条件
2、and所连接的并列关系及判别，如it is impossible to live in society and be independant of society生于社会，不能脱离社会
3、美国英语用nice或good+and+形容词，作very+形容词讲，如this watermelon is good and nice，这个西瓜熟透了
4、用and重叠比较级表示越来越。。。之意，如in spring the day is getting longer and longer and the night is getting shorter and shorter春季白天越来越长，夜晚越来越短
5、用and重叠词表示强调和延续之意，如we should read this book through and through 我们应该反复的通读这本书
6、and可用于加法和一百以上的数字中，如one and two are three, 一加二等于3， one hundred and eleven pens, 一百一十一支钢笔
